  • Central sulcus
    A prominent groove separating the frontal lobe from the parietal lobe.
  • Postcentral gyrus
    The ridge located just behind the central sulcus; primary somatosensory cortex.
  • Precentral gyrus
    The ridge located just in front of the central sulcus; primary motor cortex.
  • Parietal lobe
    Brain region located behind the frontal lobe, involved in processing sensory information.
  • Frontal lobe
    Brain region located at the front, responsible for motor function, decision making, and planning.
  • Occipital lobe
    The posterior brain lobe primarily responsible for visual processing.
  • Temporal lobe
    Brain region located beneath the lateral fissure, involved in auditory processing and memory.
  • Cerebellum
    Structure located at the back of the brain, responsible for coordination and balance.
  • Longitudinal fissure
    Deep groove that separates the two cerebral hemispheres.
