Hey everyone. So for this one, all we have to do is describe the molecules at the bottom with the description at the top. I'm going to run through these real quickly just to refresh our memories and we'll go from there. So Amon atomic element is typically alone element. So these are elements you'll see that are just standing by themselves. Typically medals are mon atomic elements. So we have sodium, that's usually just written as N. A. It's not going to have a two behind it unless it's in some sort of compound. So mon atomic elements simply elements that stand alone. Di atomic elements are the opposite of that. These are elements that come in pairs. So when you see these they're always going to have a two after them. A good example of this is oxygen. So oxygen, you're always going to see that too after it when it's standing in an equation. So that's what a di atomic element is. Polly atomic element follows the same logic. It's going to be three or more of the same element. So an example of this is going to be carbon 60. Carbon 60 was formed in a lab and you see it has the 60 after the sea. So that makes it a pol atomic element moving on to compounds, A molecular compound is a group of non metals. Mhm. That's been bound together. That one's pretty self explanatory. So if you see a group of non metals that are formed together, that's going to be a molecular compound. Now, ionic compounds have two definitions. The first is when a medal is bound to a nonmetal. Okay, so that's pretty straightforward for that. It's when the metal is bound to a nonmetal But it's also when a pneumonia Mayan which is NH four plus is bound to a nonmetal. So that's what you want to look for. When you're looking for an ionic compound, either a metal bound to a nonmetal or an ammonium ion bound to a non metal. So now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's take a look at the actual problem. So a we have chlorine. When you see chlorine, you're typically going to C C L two. It comes in a pair. So when we look at our descriptions, we'll see that number to die atomic elements. It's going to be our answer for A for B. We have C 12 H 22 06. These are all non metals that have been bound together. And when we look at our descriptions, we'll see that That's the definition for a molecular compound also known as number four. My on it has the NH four bound to chlorine, which is a non metal. When we look at our descriptions, we'll see that number five ionic compound is going to fit best here. Finally, we have Argon. Argon is usually written as just a. R. It doesn't come in a pair or anything like that. So this one is also going to be number one. It's going to be a mon atomic element.
